About Me

My name is Jane Taylor Rahman. I am a BACP registered psychotherapist and mental health consultant with an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy.

I am also a qualified clinical supervisor, holding a Diploma in Individual and Group Supervision, and provide supervision to practising therapists.

My experience

Over the past 18 years, I’ve supported people through a wide range of life challenges across diverse settings.

I spent over a decade working for leading human rights charities, providing specialist trauma-focused therapy for survivors of torture and trafficking. During this time I also secured funding for and lead a dedicated therapeutic programme for trafficked women.

Alongside this, I have run a private practice supporting professionals and founders navigate burnout, stress, anxiety, and major life changes.

This breadth of experience continues to deepen my understanding of how people respond to difficulty - and has shown me that real change needs both insight and the practical tools to act on it.

How I work

My approach draws on therapy, practical neuroscience, and coaching - because understanding why you respond the way you do is only part of the picture. The other part is having the tools to shift it.

I also draw on systems thinking, futures, and foresight - disciplines that help us understand how the wider world shapes our circumstances, our decisions, and our sense of what’s possible.

Beyond the Therapy Room

Alongside my clinical work, I’ve led mental health research and service design projects for the UK Department of Health, the World Health Organisation, and PSI Cambodia.

More recently I founded Reasons to Be Hopeful, a digital platform supporting young people to manage eco-anxiety - work that has informed WHO Europe climate health policy and been profiled by Imperial College London’s Climate Cares Centre as an example of best practice for solution-focused climate education.

I also serve as a media spokesperson on climate and mental health for the BACP and am a member of the Climate Cares Compass Project working group - focused on researching best practice for climate change education with integrated mental health support.

I’m also a parent, a traveller and someone who has navigated the same juggle of work, life and purpose that

many of my clients bring to sessions.

A unifying theme across all of my work and life is applying both evidence-based and creative solutions to complex challenges - and empowering others to do the same.

How I Work

Therapy as a first step

Choosing to go to therapy is a big step, and also the first one towards a more confident, empowered version of yourself.

I offer a confidential, supportive space where you can consciously reflect on your life challenges, your reactions to them and learn tools to conquer them.

My approach

I draw on a range of psychotherapeutic and coaching models, along with evidence-based tools from psychology, wellbeing, and neuroscience.

I also incorporate Complexity and Systems Thinking to explore how broader systems shape your circumstances and influence your decisions.

In addition, I use methods from Futures and Foresight to bring structured thinking about your future to help transform your present.

What to expect

Through structured, collaborative conversations, we’ll work proactively on the challenges you’re facing.

We’ll meet them all without judgement and with an open mind for exploration and change.

The goal is to help you move through the challenges you’re facing and come out the other side feeling more in control—equipped with the tools and insight to navigate your life with greater clarity and ease.
